Using Classification in Case-Based Planning

چکیده
This paper presents a classification-based approach to case-based reasoning. This approach has been implemented in the RESYN/CBR system whose goal is to build synthesis plans for organic molecules reusing memorised plans. Planning relies on two classification processes: ordinary or strong classification to retrieve a similar planning problem and smooth classification when the former fails. Smooth classification is an original mechanism that can become of general use in case-based reasoning. The two classification processes as well as adaptation are discussed in this paper from a general and applicative point of view.
